BSNL EVDO Coverage in Chennai

Well, after publishing the EVDO Coverage Details in Bangalore, many people has requested us to provide coverage details in other cities as well. Among them chennai people were the most who demanded us for the information.

And now the good news is, BSNL has officially published a page, which has the coverage details along with the most-likely speeds you will receive in respected areas.

    m not a permanent resident of chennai,m a student. i heard that this data card will be given to them who have permanent residential certificate of chennai.Actually m from Tripura,and i have my permanent residential certificate of Tripura,so can i apply for data card in such condition?

    One more thing...may i knw about the tarrif of this EVDO data service?

    I like To buy EVDO in bsnl ,but i heard that it can't be used in kanchipuram and vellore with the same EVDO. and i like to know about speed in kanchipuram ???????????????????????

    Hi Guys

    I’m staying near periyar Nagar (GKM Colony) - Chennai 600082
    I just wanted to know how is the connection in these surroundings Villivakam, GKM Colony, Kolathur, Perambur, Nungampakkam, Kodampakkam, T.Nagar.

    Just for information since I have not bought the connection I just wanted to collect some info before getting the connection because I don’t want to wast my money. Can anyone let me know who is residing in chennai and used in all the above areas which is been listed, that would be a great help for me.

    In tuticorin, only Muthayapuram & Sipcot has BSNL EVDO towers, so if u r in 4-5 kms radius then u will get BSNL EVDO signal, otherwise u will get only 144 kbps speed.

    Guys,

    Please don't buy this card and waste your money. The Speed actually sucks.. I am already having a Airtel 1mbps connection and it is awesome... but this actually suck.. so i advise you not to waste 4000/- bucks on this useless product.. I am staying in chennai (Triplicane), but still the speed sucks..

    Purchased BSNL EVDO at Mylapore today. Works fine and getting 1 to 1.9 Mbps in Pelathope (near Tank/Luz). Guess the key is to be near a window or something so that the walls don't dampen the signals.

    The USB unit is not available for rent -- only for outright purchase (Rs.3,640 including taxes). Looks like I am the 6th customer to have purchased this from theBSNL Mandaveli office. Maybe with more customers using this service, the bandwidth may get restricted? No clue.

    Will test reception / signal strength in Solaiappan Street and report in the next few days.

    Me having a EVDO.. its working gud wen its under EVDO coverage,, but n 1x tower coverage.. wen i try 2 connect,response s "unable to connect to remote system" wot shud i do regardin tis.. or tis EVDO wrks oly under its EVDO coverage huh..?

    I have purchased BSNL EVDO card last july 2009 in salem.i was using in salem for 4 months and
    then i got shifted to calcutta.i was unable to access the evdo there.i went to bsnl office
    in calcutta and they configured it and i was able to access .right now im in chennai.what should i do to access the evdo

    if u r not in coverage area don't buy it,,, try it if any friend of u using this,,,, some of my colleagues checked in kk nagar, mkb nagar,,,evdo siganl is not available clearly,,,,

    speed is unstable since 3 month i never got speed more than 100kbps but b4 that i recieved more than 150 kbps constant speed,,,,now its make me irritating,,,, actually i am staying 500 mts from the tower (anna nagar west)... but i am getting signal fully when i hang it in my window,,, i dont know when i am goin get my modem got stolen,,,
