BSNL EVDO started at Coimbatore.

I visited to one of the local exchange at Saravanampatti, Coimbatore to enquire about the EV-DO. At that time BSNL officials testing the EV-DO coverage. Actually in Coimbatore - they have installed EV-DO in 2 towers(Race course and Ganapathy). And it started function from yesterday (16-Jan-2008)

My place is near to Ganapathy (6-7 kms by road)- so they had checking the signals . In saravanmpatty they are not able to get the EV-DO signal, but they are able to receive the 144 kbps. So they plan to increase the height of the instrument at the tower.


They suggest me to wait for another week - so that they can check the signal strengths fully.


From their view- they are able to get the signal from 800-900 kbps on EV-DO on different areas within the coverage.


Also the cost for the connection is Rs 550 per month and the device rent is 200. So it comes 750 rs per month + tax.


They are treating me well :)

    hi,

    How is the speed now? i too staying at Saravanampatti.. Can i opt for EVDO? Will it be benefit for me? Also let me know what is the procedure to buy it? Do i need to submit any document? because i am currently stayin at rented home...

    i stay in sulur air force,which is away from coimbatore city by 20kms... when i can expect for a full fledged 2.4 mb'speed EVDO ?

    I am a new user of evdo at Karumbukkadai, cbe. Here I am getting too low coverage about 63 kbps to 100 kbps. Sometimes it gets disconnected. If I connect that at the same time, it won't connect. failed username/passed problem exit. will it be clear. is there any other method to get the coverage.

    WHEN WILL INSTALL NEW EVDO TOWERS IN COIMBATORE AND WHICH AREAS? BECAUSE IAM HEARIED 19 TOWERS WILL BE INSTALLED UPCOMING MONTH.

    Hi im using EVDO in ramnagar(Gandhipuram) its some what nearer to ganapathy but my EVDO speed is only 67.4 kbps max.

    EVDO very very waste process bcuz of the speed. at max its speed is 67.4 kbps.

    I have purchased EV-DO, but there is no tower signal in saravanampatti where big BPO industries and great business people are there. i have laptop also, but no signal. BSNL told they are installing tower as soon as possible in saravanampatti. if they do it soon, i can start my business. else all the money i invested in evdo, and other instruments is an utter waste. so BSNL authorities kindly take action immediately for installing evdo tower in saravanampatti.

    kindly do the needful at your end.

    im living in irugur... near to ondipudur in covai.... i planned to buy evdo card... i went bsnl office to check my place tower but they said v have no proviisonal for checking tower...

    plz can u tel hw much speed il get in irugur.... it 15km away frm coimbatore gandhipuram

    Hi al,
    U guys kno wat,im living in ganapathy itself n i went n asked about EVDO card around late may. U kno wat dey told,dey told tat plan was not yet launched in d city. i was quite amased 2 hear tis. Even for d bsnl staffs tis feature was not tat much familier. Worst ting......



    Hey can ny 1 tel me wen n wher u brought ur evdo card in d city. I asked in saibabacolony itself. No stock, dey said.
